Wow, what a fantastic getaway! This place is perfectly situated near Kankaiji Onsen and has stunning views of Beppu Bay. I loved how easy it was to shuttle up to the main complex, and my room in the Hana wing made accessing the baths and dining super convenient. The onsen experience was out of this world-huge, clean, and not to mention the magical outdoor Aqua Garden that lights up at night. The breakfast buffet was quite the spread, too-who can resist acai smoothies and eggs benedict?
On the downside, the size of the facility can feel a bit overwhelming, especially with families around; it sometimes gets a little noisy. I also noticed some confusion around the onsen stall reservations, which led to some waiting times. The room felt a bit snug for multiple nights, so keep that in mind if you're planning a longer stay. Otherwise, it was an amazing experience!

Comforts of twin room were fabulous - climate control, a safe box, and multi-channel television. The bed was soft and the balcony had amazing views of sky and city lights. The location prompt in sending us to-and-fro the train station was great for us...

We enjoyed a two-night getaway at this expansive resort and found it to be an absolute delight. The variety of amenities was impressive, with everything from a bowling alley and wave pool to a rooftop onsen boasting stunning ocean views. Dining options were plentiful and surprisingly diverse, making mealtime a treat. Our Grace Floor room had a balcony for outdoor bathing, which was a unique experience. The free shuttle to the nearby train station was a convenient touch, allowing easy exploration without the hassle.
Totally recommend this hotel.

I had the best time celebrating New Year at this hotel! The views from the rooftop onsen were stunning, and the spacious room was a real treat, especially with its cozy vibe. Plus, the buffet breakfast was delicious and had something for everyone-definitely a great way to start the day! The family-friendly activities kept the holiday spirit alive, and the location on the hill really gave a beautiful perspective of the city.
That said, getting around wasn't super easy, especially for older guests, and the location meant I had to rely on taxis or buses for exploring Beppu. The dinner buffet was a bit underwhelming on the variety side; I wish there had been more exciting options. the crowd during New Year made things a little chaotic at times, so be prepared for that hustle!

I recently stayed for two nights at this beautiful hotel while on a family getaway, and it was an amazing experience! The Sora-Kan building felt brand new, with spacious rooms that exceeded my expectations. Both onsens offered very nice views, especially during sunrise. The variety of activities, like stargazing with an astronomer and the fun arcade, kept us entertained. The breakfast buffet was delicious, featuring tasty French toast and egg benedict. the clean, trendy lobby and relaxing heated pool made our stay enjoyable.
I totally recommend this hotel.

Very nice views from onsens, ample family-friendly activities, gorgeous Sora-Kan building
The aqua garden felt artificial!!! Balconies in some rooms are locked!!! Frequent shuttle buses were always crowded!!! It's a hassle navigating the large compound with multiple buildings!!!

The SORA KAN Standard Room was spacious and super comfortable. Amazing view of the mountains from the room too. The only downside was the shower room only, but overall, it felt cozy and clean, which I really appreciated. Plenty of space to relax after a day of exploring.
